The Shangri-La system (headphones + amplifier) is Hifiman's technological showcase.
I know it well, and my numerous tests have shown that Shangri-La headphones truly reveal their incredible potential when playing through Viva 300B tube STX amplifier
During our presentation weekend on June 12th and 13th, 2021, this system achieved unanimous praise from all attendees, something I personally had never seen before with any of the equipment I'd tested until that excellent weekend.

The Shangri-La’s are absolutely unique pair of headphones, maybe the best of them all ?
The aluminum alloy stators are made of very fine grids (50 µm), allowing the diaphragm to operate freely.
Their positioning as close as possible to the diaphragm allows for a fast response and extremely low distortion. The diaphragm is very thin, with a less than 1 µm thickness. It is coated with a thin layer of gold nano particles.
Shangri-La's frequency response extends from 7 Hz to 120 kHz.
Listening tests show the reason why these headphones, paired with the Viva STX, are universally acclaimed : ALL other systems, by comparison, seem to deliver a "raw" and "simplified" sound !
